About this Blog

Art is the Solution is a daily blog designed to showcase one important piece of art every day throughout the year 2020.

I came up with the idea for the blog after graduating from college in 2016. As a student, I was an art history minor and took many classes on the history of art. After leaving school, I realized that I missed talking and writing about art. However, for several years I was too busy establishing a career and moving from place to place to think about starting any sort of art project. Now, however, I’ve decided that it’s time to start sharing some of my favorite pieces of art with the world.

My goal in writing this blog is not to give people a definitive and scholarly analysis of each painting, sculpture, and work of art. After all, I’m not an expert on art history by any stretch of the imagination. My aim is to share my opinion and use my knowledge of art to interpret each piece in a way that is meaningful to people living modern, busy lives.

That’s why I’ve named the blog Art is the Solution. I hope that readers of the blog will see art in a new way and discover how pieces that are hundreds or thousands of years old can be relevant to their lives. I say this because I do believe that art is the solution to the problems facing the world today; art gives all of us a new way to look at the world, and that, in turn, gives us a new way to approach challenges.

I hope you enjoy reading Art is the Solution.
